Union Sporting first to help ailing cricketer Wahid

Union Sporting, one of the leading cricket clubs of Orissa, today showed a hearth-touching gesture by contributing Rs 10,000 for the treatment of former State cricketer Wahid Latif, who is suffering from bone marrow cancer. Making a prompt response to a newspaper report on Wahid`s plight, Cuttack-based Union Sporting secretary Pradeep Chouhan handed over the financial assistance to the ailing cricketer and wished him an early recovery. ``I am thnakful to Union Sporting for their support,`` said Wahid in response. Chouhan also hoped that Orissa Cricket Association and other sports bodies would come to Wahid`s help soon.
